In One Piece Green: Secret Pieces, an early concept of the crew was revealed. Chopper was supposed to be more of a "realistic-looking reindeer". Chopper's adventure in Torino Kingdom is extended in the anime. Chopper was wandering around the island right after falling from the giant birds' nest. A native snuck up on Chopper and knocked him out.
